ABOUT
Tucker Schwinn is a Midwest based photographer with deep interests in documenting subcultures, small craft businesses, industrial settings, and portraiture.
While earning a BFA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago, Tucker split shifts working as a Photography TA while putting in hours in bike shops and playing Hardcourt Bike Polo. His photography projects focused around documenting bike polo and bicycle frame builders he met through bike shops, friends and family.
After graduating in 2010, Tucker worked for SRAM Corporation, a large US-based bicycle parts maker. Between working as a customer service tech and fixing his forever breaking polo bike, Tucker’s knowledge of bicycles grew.
In 2017, he returned home to work alongside his father, Richard Schwinn, at Waterford Precision Cycles.
While at Waterford, Tucker wore a lot of hats that included handling social media, product development, inspection, giving tours, machining, final detailing of finished bicycle frames and shipping, until the factory closed in 2023.
